We stayed in Cyprus for a month and spent three weeks in the ground floor apartment which gives access to the pool. We found the apartment extremely well equipped and plenty of everything necessary. We found the quick way down to Coral Bay which is lovely and considered that the apartment was a very good base to access lots of the beauty spots easily. Julie was most helpful and thank you for the bottle of welcoming wine! Recommended for: Age 55+, Sightseeing, Families with Young Children

40th Birthday Celebration not to be forgotten

When I started thinking about how to celebrate my brother's 40th Birthday I had a few things on my check list that needed to be fulfilled. Somewhere that not only had privacy but also had class. Unbelievably this villa had both in abundance. The villa surpassed all of our expectations and not only did we get a fantastic villa we also got a fantastic holiday. We spent 5 nights at the end of May, had beautiful weather and didnt leave the villa once. The bar area in the villa was extremely busy!! The service we were provided was excellent from the moment we booked to the moment we arrived, we were certainly given the five star treatment, so much so I have already booked it for 2 weeks later in the year for all my family. A fantastic villa, fantastic location - thanks very much to Tony and Mel for making this a 40th my brother will never forget.

Hi Paul, Marcela & Rocky, Hope you are all well. Needless to say, we had a great time at your place again this year. The only problem being that the time seems to go so fast. We managed more time on our bikes this year too, what with that beautiful Vois Vert and the surrounding small villages all easy to cycle to. PLUS, I managed to catch one of your big carp. I must spend more time hunting for these beasties next year. Rose misses the quiet and beautiful surroundings as it’s great for her painting and sketching. In saying that, I think she misses the plonk, good food and excellent company we always enjoy whilst staying at La Cabane du Pêcheur. Don’t change a thing, just be there for next year. Send our love to Colin and Beryl and we’ll see you all in 2011. Love, Rose and Dave

Daniel, Amy and Family 2010 My family found the website and the pictures and description looked so inviting. From the moment we enquired about renting a cabin, we knew this was the right place. Everyone we emailed was so polite, friendly and informative. When we arrived, the place surpassed our expectations. It was an idyllic environment. The greenery, the peace and quiet, the badminton, the bocci ball and the lake with fishing were all more than you could ask for. Our three children (8,6 and 2) all loved it and never asked, "We're bored--there's nothing to do." The site is nestled in the Normandy and the many attractions of the region are only a short drive away. What more can you ask for in a vacation if you want a tranquil setting to get away from the stresses of modern day life. Cheers D. Storms and A. Chang

Ken and Family 2010 A few words about the times we have stayed at your place. First it is very easy to find and get to with all the good road network wether you are coming dover/ calais or portsmouth/caen. And when you get there it is nice quiet and peaceful. The cabins have everything you need from cooking for yourself to washing, you can have a barbeque in any weather cos its under a pergola. You can get to all the places of interest within about 1 hours drive and the roads are very good to drive on. Thats why we keep coming back. See you soon Ken Haig

A great week at Madeira!

"Sunnyhouse West war der perfekte Standort für unseren Aufenthalt auf Madeira. Das Haus ist komplett und reichlich ausgestattet ausgestattet, absolut sauber und top in Ordnung. Die Vermieter sind sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend.Die Lage absolut ruhig und trotzdem sind von dort alle Punkte der Insel schnell zu erreichen. Unvergesslich die Abende auf der Dachterasse mit Atlantikblick und den Rufen der Cagarros. Die Unterkunft ist sehr zu empfehlen!! Best place to stay on Madeira. Quiet but even near to all interesting places on the island. The house is situated in a little banana garden, very clean and there was all we needed. Great momments...sitting on the terrace and watching the sunsets and listening the sounds of hte Cagarros flying above us.The owner are very friendly and helpfull and living near by. naomi Germany Our stay at "sunny house east" was great. Stand up in the morning and open the window and hear the sound of the atlantic is fantastic. The location of the house is good, easy to reach Funchal. Also the contact to the owners was personally and they help us a lot to find the best attraction in the surrounding area. I hope we will visit them as soon as possible again. Go to sunny house and explore the varied Island of Madeira with their magical attraction. Thorsten & SabineHamburg, Germany When we were planning our first trip to Madeira, we were not so sure if it´s a good idea to stay so far out in the west of the south coast. Turned out that we didn´t regret our decision for a second! Not only did we find out that you can reach almost any point on this beautiful island easily in less than an hour by car, but we also discovered that all the nice things we had read about the helpful hosts and their Sunny House are absolutely true. Located in a quiet, down-to-earth village, surrounded by banana trees, close to the sea shore, very well equipped, tidy and, yes, sunny. With great views of the mountains and the ocean from the balcony, where you can spend your evenings having a barbecue and just chill or even go online via Wi-Fi internet access if you feel you have to stay in touch with the world out there. If you´ld ask us, whether we missed anything, we would have to say: an electric coffee maker. But from what we´ve heard, they even got one of these machines now! Can´t wait to go back there... Als wir unsere erste Reise nach Madeira geplant haben, waren wir uns nicht so sicher, ob es eine gute Idee ist, so weit im Westen der Insel zu wohnen. Tatsächlich haben wir unsere Entscheidung nicht eine Sekunde lang bereut! Wir haben nicht nur gemwerkt, dass man so ziemlich jeden Punkt dieser wunderschönen Insel in weniger als 1 Stunde mit dem Auto erreichen kann, sondern konnten auch feststellen, dass all die netten Dinge, das wir über die hilfsbereiten Gastgeber und ihr Sunny House gelesen haben, wahr sind. Es liegt in einem ruhigen, bodenständigen Dorf, umgeben von Bananenpalmen, nah am Meer, ist sehr gut ausgestattet, sauber und, ja, auch sonnig. Auf dem Balkon kann man abends mit tollem Blick auf die Berge und den Ozean beim Barbecue entspannen oder auch über WLAN ins Internet gehen, wenn man meint, man müsste mit der Welt da draussen in Kontakt bleiben. Wenn man uns fragt, ob wir irgend etwas vermisst haben, würde uns nur eines einfallen: eine Kaffeemaschine. Aber wie wir gehört haben, hat man inzwischen auch die angeschafft! Wir können´s kaum erwarten, wieder hin zu fahren... Great Location and hospitality

Dave&SamPlymouth A very nice house on 3 levels set amongst the Banana plantations within the unspoilt fishing village of Paul Da Mar. Paul and Eva were very friendly and helpful hosts, with us dining out with them on our arrival, in Joe's Bar at the adjoining village. Lovelly food and great company. Eva was brought up in Paul Da Mar so was able to provide us with an interesting insight into the history of the village and surrounding area. The village is very unspoilt, so you get an insight into local life. The house is set about 200 metres back from the sea. You can sit on the top floor balcony and see the wonderful sunsets dip beyond the horizon. Also lay in bed and listen to the waves lapping the shores. The house is very clean, the kitchen is modern with all necessary cooking utensils, should you wish to eat in. The beds are comfortable and the two bathrooms have a nice shower with plenty of hot water. The top floor living room and external balcony are elevated so you get great views, and the sun to your south and west all day. You can stroll along to the older part of the village, or walk up the very steep hills to the top of the cliffs! We like to explore the island so hired a car and drove around the island. There is plenty to see both locally and further a field, but it was always nice to return to our base for a relaxing evening locally. The village has a small bakery and convenience store. The nearest supermarket and petrol station are a 10 minute drive away. Definitly recommend it to friends and family but would say unless you want to do absolutely nothing and are happy to just stroll along the sea front i would recommend you have a car to explore as there isn't much to do locally without one. Your review confirms that the location is quiet and relaxing, great for short, easy walks whether along the ocean front or longer ones up to the top of the cliffs - such as the PR19 about one hour! And that everything you need whether it’s a restaurant or shopping is in the village or about 10 minutes away by car in Calheta town by the Ocean or up on top of the cliffs. We always recommend hiring a car in Madeira for convenience and comfort and according to UK newspaper reports in September 2010 Madeira is one of the cheaper places in the world for renting a car even if you are only renting for a week! Claudine/France We have been very happy with our stay in the home of Paul and Iva. The house is very clean, well equipped, just what is needed and also very quiet. It is spacious and pleasant. The points of view on the sea and on the gardens from the terraces are beautiful. The owners gave us all the information necessary for the functioning of the house and are really a nice. In Paul Do Mar you can easily swim from the pier. The village is calm and we just felt like the end of the road without being far from the sites visited, such as the plateau Da Serra, Porto Moniz and the coast northwest and southwest. This location allowed us to go hiking on the day in this region west of the island. In our opinion, this is a good address and a fair price, adding to the good impression that we have. Recommended for: Adventure Seekers, Families with Teenagers

Amazing holidays in Sunny house

Solène Rennes / France We had very nice holidays in Paul do Mar. The house was very clean with a gorgeous view on the sea. The sea was only a-2 minute walk away and the area is really quiet and beautiful (into bananas field). Thanks to Paul and Iva advice we could go out on a boat trip and see whale and dolphins, it was crazy ! We recommand this house to everybody ! thanks again to Paul and Iva for their warm welcome.
